You can find out your BMI by consulting Franklin’s Nutritionist. Alabama was named the second most obese state in the country, according to the seventh annual F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2010 report from the Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

How are these high rates of obesity affecting our everyday lives? Obesity leads to a number of health problems including hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, heart problems, joint pain, and difficulty breathing.

Franklin provides confidential Nutrition education/counseling with a registered dietitian. Our Nutritionist can help determine your BMI and help you set up an eating plan customized for you. Services offered include nutrition education to patients (both children and adults) with:

High Blood Pressure
Diabetes
High Cholesterol
Obesity
Pregnancy
Underweight
Kidney Disease
Anemia
Constipation
These services are provided at all Franklin centers in the Mobile area. Ask any Franklin provider for a referral to the RD/Nutritionist.
