Overview:
Franklin Primary Health Center is seeking a Medical Office Assistant for our Baldwin County location in Foley, AL. In this full-time role, you’ll provide clerical support for patient care while maintaining a professional and courteous atmosphere at the front desk.
Key Responsibilities:
– Greet and register patients, visitors, and staff professionally and courteously
– Answer phones, route calls, and provide accurate information
– Schedule patient appointments and prepare daily appointment logs
– Retrieve and assemble medical charts and ensure accuracy in documentation
– Interview patients to collect and update demographic and insurance information
– Determine sliding fee scale eligibility based on income documentation
– Process patient payments and reconcile daily receipts and encounter forms
– Submit and maintain records for insurance claims
– Maintain confidentiality of all patient information
– Assist with mail distribution and reception area upkeep
– Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
– High school diploma or GED required
– Completion of Medical Office Assistant program or equivalent experience preferred
– Minimum 1 year of medical office or customer service experience preferred
– Strong public relations and communication skills
– Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD-9 coding, and insurance billing
– Proficient with multi-line phones, computers, and office equipment
Work Schedule & Pay:
Full-time | Monday–Friday | Day shift | $15.00–$17.00 per hour
